Malcolm Gladwell's "David & Goliath" @ Sixth & I: Politics & Prose

It is my understanding that this event has Sold Out.

If you want to try for a ticket, I suggest that you call or email Politics & Prose to see if any tickets will be available at the door.  Do Not call Sixth & I, as it is only the venue, not the actual managing organization of this event.

Admission:TICKETS ON SALE TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 10 at noon. Tickets are $40 and include one (1) copy of the book. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling TicketFly [masked]). There is a $1.50 fee per ticket for phone orders. Doors open at 6:00 pm.  http://www.politics-prose.com/event/book/malcolm-gladwell-david-and-goliath

=========================================================

In David and Goliath, Gladwell—the #1 bestselling author of The Tipping Point, Blink, Outliers, and What the Dog Saw—challenges how we think about obstacles and disadvantages, offering a new interpretation of what it means to be discriminated against, or cope with a disability, or lose a parent, or attend a mediocre school, or suffer from any number of other apparent setbacks.

Three thousand years ago, a shepherd boy felled a mighty warrior with nothing more than a stone and a sling, and ever since then the names of David and Goliath have stood for battles between underdogs and giants. David's victory was improbable and miraculous. He shouldn't have won. Or should he have?

David and Goliath examines Northern Ireland's Troubles, the minds of cancer researchers and civil rights leaders, and the dynamics of successful and unsuccessful classrooms---all to demonstrate how much of what is beautiful and important in the world arises from what looks like suffering and adversity.

Gladwell will be in conversation with David Plotz, Editor of Slate. Book signing to follow.

    It was an interesting event. Malcolm spoke about a variety of topics offering intriguing insights. I hope everyone who attended it had a good time, even though we weren't able to find each other.

    Any suggestions on how/where to meet? Seating is not assigned, and is on a first-come basis; therefore, I'd recommend going inside upon arrival and getting seated, rather than waiting outside for everyone. My cel number is[masked]

      You might consider calling the Politics and Prose to find out if only the tickets allotted for online sales are sold out. For some of the events sold out online, such as the one for Susan Cain earlier in the year, tickets were available at the door.
