We'll start the new year off with a return to the Friday Jazz Night at Westminster Church on January 3rd http://www.westminsterdc.org/jazz/.
If you've never been to Jazz night at Westminster, it is a place where true jazz lovers of all ages and races come together to enjoy wonderful music! A jazz gem in the DC area.
On the 3rd, the Lyle Link Quintet takes the stage with Lyle Link, sax; Chris Grasso, piano; Tommy Cecil, bass; Lenny Robinson, drums; and Akua Allrich, vocals. There is a $5 cover for the jazz performance.
Westminster is Metro accessible and only a block from the Waterfront stop on the Green line. Westminster has a small parking lot (free), but street and garage parking are plentiful and close by if you drive.
Those that work in DC with flexible schedules should plan to meet me at the Happy Hour at Station 4 Restaurant (directly across from the Waterfront metro and the Safeway; less than a block from Westminster). They have a happy hour food menu and a few drink specials. We'll meet there at 4:30 then head to Westminster at 5:45. Westiminster has food for purchase as well if you can't make HH. The music is from 6-9.
Please note that THIS PERFORMANCE WILL BE VERY POPULAR, so we cannot save seats for anyone not with us at Station 4, or at Westminster when we arrive. I'll post comments so that we can at least meetup during the first intermission.
Hope to see you on the 3rd!
