Glad you enjoyed it - was worried it wouldn't be of interest.

Thanks for your suggestions. I've been thinking about your suggestion to use filtering to enhance the cleaner. I think I can do something using the __call() method which would allow registering filters dynamically so that an application could tailor higher level functionality as needed at the application level.

That will have to wait until I get the site up and running, because it feels like a diversion right now.
