Hike to Columbine Lake (N of Silverton)

Hike to Columbine Lake, just N of Silverton, trailhead on CR100, N of Ophir Pass Rd. Hike is about 2500 ft. gain and 6-8.5 mi. RT depending on how far you go. I'll plan to meet at the Junction of 550 and Ophir Pass Rd. at 7AM and then caravan up Ophir Pass to CR100 to the trailhead. Look for the vehicle with the orange bandana on the bike rack.

Hike is rated challenging due to steep and loose sections, however not supposed to be technically difficult (according to the trail guides)

If plans or drastic weather change I'll post an update by 7PM on Sat. 6/20.

I have always thought the area was beautiful. See you there.

This is an awesome hike. Did it a few years ago. The lake is gorgeous. The first mile was brutal with a big overnight pack but it would be great as a day hike!

Fwiw there is only parking for one vehicle, maybe two small ones at the trailhead. Might need to be prepared for an extra 2-3 miles roundtrip if we have to walk the road....

There's also the option of parking the cars at the Chattanooga site and hiking up trails along mill creek - but I'm not sure how that would compare to the trail you have picked. I might be game, but I need to make sure this time before committing.
