To meet other writers. I've been a writer all my life first as a journalist in Australia and around the world. I've written four books Down Under, one novel. In the US I have two books. I'm currently working on a novel.
At my first meeting I heard good professional quality writing.
It was a pleasure meeting you. Here are my editorial suggestions: Combine the 2 sections on his thoughts on marriage in a "this but that" format so we see the conflict. Insert some stage business with the baby to add a bit of reality and some action to break up the monologue. Wife could be trying to care for Iona & listen at the same time. Paraphrase his dialogue so it sounds more colloquial. The ideas are right, but you doesn't convey the spoken word. My 2 cents. Susan
Thanks, Chris. I'll look forward to another meeting in the near future.
I enjoyed my first meetup at the Library yesterday morning. Your mate, Mickey, acquitted himself most favorably with Chapter 14 of his novel. I'm committed to a Yoga class on Wednesday nights for the next little while, but look forward to meeting you one day soon.
Dear Chris, I just joined the group. I'm from the US originally but I've spent the last three years in Melbourne. I started a blog called "Down Under" when we first moved there, three years ago.
