Re: [Durham-Writers-Group] DWG Short Story Contest - Next Topic

Dear writers,

I want to thank Eric for his continued energy in support of this group, and all who enjoy it's benefits.

I would like to suggest that we have broader topics. I recently read a short story compilation published by Main Street Rag that was called "Tattoos". All of the stories dealt with that topic in lessor or greater degree. This kind of topic choice allows writers to use their best talents and inspiration while keeping more or less to a topic. An example might be from the attached poll: A benevolent character. Then let the creative spirit of the writer decide where the character takes both the writer and the reader. Let that character remain benevolent, turn drastically evil, or develop anywhere in between.

I think this premise would also encourage a greater participation. Please see this as only a suggestion and please hear once again my sincere appreciation for Eric's hard work.

Best to all,
Charles Higgins

I've created a poll on the DWG meetup site that lists some topic choices for our next quarterly short story contest.
Please take a few seconds and go to the poll and select one or more topics. I will use the topic that gets the most votes.
Here is the direct link:
Thank you.
