Agile Software Development

Open to the Public. For anyone interested in learning more about DaVinci Coders, here's how:

This week's speaker will be Mike Gehard, Senior Software Engineer. The topic will be "Agile Software Development."

Agile software development methodologies allow us to deliver business value more quickly and with higher quality than waterfall methodologies. In this talk, Mike Gehard will pull back the covers on how Pivotal Labs uses agile techniques to quickly write high quality software for their clients. These techniques have evolved from Extreme Programming over many years. At the end of the talk, you'll know all of the "secrets" of how Pivotal does what they have been doing for over 15 years. The second part of the talk will be devoted to discussing specific questions from the audience.

Mike Gehard is a senior software engineer at Pivotal Labs in Boulder. He is a strong advocate for using agile techniques to deliver business value as quickly as possible. Mike spent 10 months at LivingSocial using these techniques to help a struggling team become one of the highest functioning teams at LivingSocial.
