Just a reminder that THIS coming Saturday is our Annual "Valentine's Wienter Formal"
Dress those adorable wiener girls up in their prettiest little dresses, sweaters, scrunchies, and bandanas. :o) Of course, the boys must wear their sweaters, ties, or bandanas so they look dapper for the ladies....
But don't worry! If you don't have anything for your wiener to wear, we have all new Dapper Dog Valentine bandanas and ties that we will have available at the meet-up. (It's been cold out, so I've been keeping Georgie busy at the sewing machine!) We have new "Valentine-y" selections for both boys and girls!
(Side note, we have a few Dapper Dog coats for sale, too! If you are looking for a nice fleece coat for your little shivering doxie....come see what we have. We can always custom sew you one to fit your dog! See...when we get bored, we sew....there's always a dog in need, so why not start now?)
HUA Bake Sale!
Ella Alberts is also doing a very special bake sale at the meet-up! She is doing a volunteer service project for a pageant she is in to raise money and awareness for a good cause. Ella chose dog rescue! More specifically, she chose Hearts United for Animals dog rescue!
I will be sending out a Rescue Spotlight on HUA later this week, as I thought I would aid in her quest to raise awareness of what HUA does for dogs (and cats). They are a wonderful rescue that usually has anywhere from[masked] dogs in their shelter at any one time. For those of you that don't know, I actually adopted my sweet little mill mama Daisy from HUA, so they hold a special place in my heart. They also have quite a weakness for the wieners and always have a large supply of them on hand! Gotta love it! You can check them out at www.hua.org.
Lastly today, I want to introduce our very special Valentine Wiener Fosters!
We have "Rustolfo Valentino" (aka Trusty Rusty). Quite a dashing hound if you ask me.....
Rustolfo is a very healthy and peppy 12 yr old gentleman that absolutely loves life! He enjoys long walks on a leash, and cuddles under the blankies on the couch. He is completely potty trained, never having had an accident! Rustolfo is kennel trained, and follows basic instructions very well. Due to the fact that he spent the majority of his years as an only "child" with his senior owner, Rusty is at his best as an only dog that can get your undivided attention and all of your love. He isn't fond of sharing toys, blankies or you....so he's best on his own. He can get a little cranky with kids sometimes, so best that there's no resident children.
If you take a chance on Rustolfo, he will lavish you with his unconditional love, and give you all he has to give....forever!
Our brand new Valentine is "Linus Olivier." Isn't he a handsome chap?
Linus came into Promise 4 Paws about a month ago and has proved himself to be a very well-behaved gentleman! Linus just turned a very healthy 11 yrs young and is a good sized boy (but not fat). He's neutered and up to date on all his vetting. He gets along very well with his 2 foster sisters (even the bossier one ;) and has great house manners. Linus came from a an older woman who had to move into senior living, and he is completely paper/potty pad trained. He was originally raised in a warmer area (Vegas) and hasn't been real excited about this cold, snowy weather....
He's a real love and needs someone to keep him warm! Do you have room in your heart for Linus?
Learn more about Rusty or Linus at Promise 4 Paws: www.promise4pawsdogrescue.com
We have a couple of little Cupids this year also....from the Wag N Train terrier rescue, there are a couple of absolutely adorable little wirehair wieners and wiener mixes looking for a home! Check out Nigel, Kokomo, and Jasper (OK, Jasper is for the white fluffy fans out there....I don't see a whole lot of doxie in him...but it's there! I'm guessing he has some spunk!) Check them out at: http://www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com
Kokomo is approximately 3 months old, a dachshund/poodle mix. Weighing in at 5 pounds, he will remain small when full grown. Kokomo is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. (He definitely has a wiener dog face! Look at those eyes!)
Nigel is a one year old male Wire Hair Dachshund. He is quite the little character as is typical of the breed, and likes to help his foster mom around the house by rearranging rugs, dog beds, etc. Nigel walks well on leash and attends doggy day care where he is making rapid progress with socialization. Nigel is hoping for a forever home with another small dog to keep him company and to play with. (How handsome is Nigel?)
Jasper is a one year old Bichon-dachshund mix who weighs in under 10 pounds. More about Jasper as he settles into his foster home. (Look at that little face!)
Watch out or these little guys will definitely steal your heart!
Looking forward to seeing you all this Saturday at the meet-up! I'll bring Daisy if I can get her out from under the bed and get her pretty dress on her.... You know how much she just LOVES playing dress up! (I'm such a mean Mommy!!!)
~Cheri, Dusty, Daisy and Georgie
PS Thanks to everyone for sending in pix of your sisters, and previously your brothers. Please feel free to keep sending! You can send in any combo of siblings or only children if you want to share your "baby" with the group! I think it's been fun to see the pix of all the different dogs!
Also, congrats to Pam and Rick and Zoey!!! I was going to feature their NDR foster Zoey as one of our Valentines, but, she has been adopted!!!! Yay Zoey!!! Hope she enjoys her new furever home!
