Nyla,
I know I couldn't foster, because I fall in love with the dogs
too easy. I would never be able to give them up after taking
care of them even for a little while. So I relagate myself to
volunteer for NDR & HUA, donate, and spread the word about these
two wonderful organizations to everyone I meet. I also try to
talk everyone else into fostering! That said, I think you'd be a
wonderful foster mother!!! But really, you've done wonders with
the dogs you have (esp Casper!), you are so patient and loving with
them, I think you'd do a great job!
Hope Maggie gets to feeling better (SOOO glad it's not
bloat!!!!)

Puppy Mill Rescue
Congratulations to Hearts United and Nebraska Dachshund
Rescue for another successful rescue of puppy mill dogs.
They were on channel 3 news last night, and there's more info on
the channel 3 website (as well as HUA and NDR's websites also) if
you want to check it out. NDR's website already has the
pictures posted of the mill dogs that they took in to
foster. They are absolutely adorable! (One little red
& white piebald-Lily Valentine looks like my Daisy, and
Dimples looks like a black & white version of my
Daisy-not that I'm biased or anything!)
It will take a lot of love and patience to help these dogs
get over their horrible experiences that they have had to live
through, but being the owner of a mill dog myself, I can tell
you it is totally worth it. These little guys have so much
love to share and show so much appreciation for even the smallest
things, like a lap to sit on, a kiss, a scratch behind the
ears-let alone a nice warm, safe bed, good food that they don't
have to fight for, love.
Thankyou NDR and HUA and all of your volunteers
for saving the lives of these little guys and giving them a
chance at a real life in a real home with a real
family-furever!
