Subject: [dachshund-427] Minnie the Dachshund

I know of an 8 year-old dachshund looking for a new home. BUT, before anyone continues reading, I just want to say, I know nothing about this dog or owner other than what was told to me. Taking in a dog directly from an owner, that you do not know is a gamble. It can go very right or very wrong. If you are willing or know of someone willing to take that chance, please let me know and I can give you the owner's phone number.

I was contacted by an aquaintance of mine whose co-worker is, in my opinion, wanting to discard her dog. My aquaintence herself has owned dachies all her life. At this time has 3. Her oldest one is having a time getting used to the one she recently adopted from HUA. Otherwise she would have stepped up to take her.

Minnie is a red smooth, 8 year old dachshund and has been with her current owner since a puppy. The owner claims that Minnie is 6 pounds but by the attached pictures, she's at least 10 lbs. (Minne is the smaller of the two dogs). She is spayed, maybe UTD but never has had a dental. The owner says that Minnie is somewhat potty trained  "goes outside if someone is there to let her out, otherwise, just goes wherever".  According to her owner, she is sweet and has never bitten or snapped at anyone. "She probably craves more attention than she gets".

The owners reasoning for having Minnie find a new home is since the teenage (17-19?) children are bringing two larger dogs into the house, they have decided to look for another home for little Minnie.

Another friend of mine that knows the same woman (from work) who's getting rid of the dog, said he believes it's also because she wants new carpet and no more pee on it. So in other words, the owner has not properly trained Minnie.

Pictures attached. Minnie is the smaller of the two dogs. I am told the other dachie is her daughter's who lives elsewhere, and her home is not an option for Minnie.
