Bringing Leadership Agility to Agile

Bringing Leadership Agility to Agile

Agile can transform software development teams – and other kinds of teams – in amazing ways.  As Agile has taken hold and proven its worth, people are seeing the need and opportunity for something more:  The development of agile organizations.  To do this, we need a new kind of “leadership culture” at the senior and middle management levels.  What’s needed isn’t simply the application of Agile methods in management teams.  We need leaders who have the capacity to think and act at higher levels of agility.

In this presentation, Bill Joiner will introduce us to three “levels” of leadership agility that emerged from extensive research on the leadership needed in today’s highly complex, rapidly changing business environment.  Going beyond previous conceptions of agile leadership, he will introduce us to the rarely practiced “Catalyst” level of leadership agility and how it can be applied to the larger challenges posed by today’s Agile initiatives.

Thanks to ours host and special thanks to Bill Joiner for his discussion. There are a couple of observations that I feel should be discussed but Agile is open to discussion. The goal is getting everyone on board.
