BYOT (Bring Your Own Topic)

Our March meeting will be a BYOT (Bring Your Own Topic) night with great food and fellowship.  This is a chance to actively participate and dig in on deep on topics of interest to you.

Simply post your idea here as a comment, then be prepared to discuss your topic at the meeting. You don't have to have a solution or do a presentation; you just need to be able to represent your topic and answer questions with the group as we discuss it. We'll use the meeting to dive into all those unanswered questions / issues that you might not have been able to get answered before. We will also use this time to identify topics, speakers and events for the remainder of the year.

Thank you for sharing your case study. I think your idea should eventually force everything else into shape.

Thanks Jessica, it was a pleasure getting your thoughts and advice. I came away with some good thoughts.

Would a Lean Coffee approach help?

I sense a lack of topics.... would multiple choice help?

The PM triangle - how do you explain it; but where's the value that Agile talks about?

Who's responsible for creating culture? What culture do we have at our Org? How do we measure it? What culture do we desire? How might we take an action toward that desired culture?

I have an org that wants to be "agile" but lacks the basic engineering disclipines (XP practices) - will this be a show stopper in agile adoption?

My VP wants to measure 'Time to Value' - seems simple enough - but what's the system thinking model that may occur (good/bad) if we start measuring T2V and optimize a process that rushes to complete projects? What other measures should go along with this metric?

Great approach to plan for topics in the near future. Is there a suggest and vote feature in meetup?

(Will Whitfill) topic: What costs are different for teams that are dis-located vs. teams in one location? I know salary is one. What else?

Sad that this will be my last ALN meetup as Jenn and I are relocating to Charlotte at the end of the month, but happy we've had the opportunity to interact and learn with such a great community :)

Have fun in Charlotte, my old stomping grounds, went to UNC-Charlotte and work in C. for a number of years... you may like that it's "close" to the mountains and the ocean... but "close" is defined as a 4hr drive, and was never close enough....
