I have always had an affinity with Asia studies and culture. The Tao de ching as inspired as well as baffled me. Mostly, I warm up to the idea that Taoism doesn't negate other religions or belief systems, I find it to be a wonderful compliment.
We always have great discussions about the concepts explained in the Tao de Ching. Our adventures out in nature always are inspiring
thank you for answering my question about bringing kids to the sept 25 picnic! looking forward to meeting all of you!
Thanks Monique, your Greeting has made my day! Everything you said really put a smile on my face. I value all you do for and bring to the group as well. I can't wait until I've studied these texts for half as long as you have. I haven't been contributing much lately -- it is nice though when we keep the mailling list more "active" between meetups! Heck I would even be up for having more than one meetup per month - but I realize that probably is not possible. Have a WONDERFUL, Blessed day!
I joined the Dallas Yi Jing (I Ching) Meetup on August 11, 2004 and Monique joined on August 12, 2004. At that time we still did not know each other. On September 9, 2004 I announced the first meeting, giving only two days notice. The next day, however, I received a query from Monique asking about the event. Monique and I have different approaches to the Yi Jing, but we share a deep love for this ancient spiritual compass. In Fellowship (Hexagram 13) we study it for spiritual transformation....
