Kenyan Food!!

Hello awesome people!

I talked to the owner and she suggested a buffet to include folks on the waiting list! The buffet will be mainly Kenyan food and she will graciously provide samples of the West Africa dishes she has! Yaayy!! And for $12.99 per person plus tax and tip.

Here is the menu on the buffet:

Appetizers: Samosas (Beef, chicken and vegetarian), alloca (fried plantains) and beef kebab. Hmm...she said Kenyan kebabs are completely different from Middle Eastern's. Let's try it!

Main dishes: Beef stew, oxtail, fufu (pounded yam), Ugali/Sima (ground cornmeal), Pilau rice (from Zanzibar!), Kachumbari (a sauce/salad I am dying to try)

The samples she will give to us are from West Africa:

Fufu Egusi- Melon seeds with onions, assorted seafood and spinach

Fufu Ogbonno- Ogbonno (West African Seed), with onions, assorted seafood, bouillon, stock and spinach

Fufu and Bitterleaf- West African Enugu bitter leaf vegetables

Sounds good, right?

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Hugs to all!

I am so excited about this place. Afrika Fusion is a small restaurant serving mostly Kenyan food but have some dishes from Tanzania and some West Africa flavors as well. l loved what I had- samosas apparently made with filo dough (spicy!!), beef skewers and a delicious sausage. Everything was very well seasoned, can't wait to try other dishes. Menu is here (partial)

Hope to see you there!

Michelle is not well so I am taking us off the list to open up space for others. If she is better and since it is a buffet we will check with Karla and try to make it.

Buffet sounds like a wonderful idea and a great way to try many different African foods! Thank you and look forward to it.
