Old school rangefinder photowalk

Do you have a rangefinder in your stash that you haven't used in a while or don't use very often? Dust it off, load some film and lets hit the streets. There are two types of film cameras that get people's attention when they see them, TLRs and Rangefinders, because they don't see those types of cameras everyday.

Greg and I are currently sitting at the City Park Cafe right on the corner when you walk up

I *think* we might be able to attend, but may be a bit late depending on how a project at work goes. Shouldn't be too hard to spot the rangefinders, though. ;-)

No, we shouldn't be too hard to find!

Thinking of bringing my doggie. Would anyone have a problem with that? The only thing is if we hang out somewhere after words, and I stay, we'd need a place with a patio. Of course, I don't have to join. I wouldn't be offended if you guys pick a place that isn't dog friendly.

Okay, to give an update as we close in on 3 days until the walk, we're going to meet at the corner of St. Paul and Main, which is one of the main openings to the Park. From there this is going to be a free for all walk, where you're free to shoot! you can go into the Asian Festival (as Tom noted is planned for this day, it starts at 11 am), walk up or down either Main or Commerce streets, I'm excited to see what everyone will shoot!

Here is the home page on the Asian Festival of Dallas

I'm also going to upload a photo of a map with it marked where we are going to meet.

Parking, for those of you that are driving (and I don't know what the city is going to do far as blocking off streets, if they are going to do that, but there are several lots east of the corner of Commerce and Harwood.) There is also a big 7 story parking garage on the opposite corner of the park, at Main and Harwood.

Those of you that might consider taking public transportation (which I am a big supporter of that, especially when traveling into downtown when there are special events going on..) you can either take any of the Light Rail trains and get off at the St Paul station, which is a couple of blocks north of the park (good walk for some warm up shots!), and there are bus stops on Commerce that several of the lines stop at, it's on the corner of Commerce and Harwood.

Well this might be cool. I've got two, but not necessarily old, but a bit dusty after just being in Peru. One 35mm, one 120. My girl friend also has one, a 35mm. We'll try to see if we can make this one.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
