German Pioneer Homes in Central Texas

Would you like to know how the first German Settlers to Texas built their homes and recreated their "Heimatgefühl"? Then come to this interesting free lecture of Helga von Schweinitz, published author, Advisory Board Member of the German-Texas Heritage Society, regular contributor via "Helga's Corner" to the GTHS quarterly journal and monthly newsletter, and jack-of-all-trades, i.e. expert, on all things relevant to the German Free School in Austin. There will be a reception following the talk. We ask all DGC non-members for a small donation to offset food and drinks.

Interesting presentation. Now I have a reason to go back to San Antonio and look for the traces of German history.

The program was very interesting. We had lived for several years in Central Texas (San Antonio) and both I and my husband learned something new.
