BOOK CLUB: The Language of Flowers: A Novel by Vanessa Diffenbaugh

I saw this one on a few book club lists, and it has good reviews on Amazon, so we'll see...

From Amazon.com:

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

The Victorian language of flowers was used to convey romantic expressions: honeysuckle for devotion, asters for patience, and red roses for love. But for Victoria Jones, it’s been more useful in communicating mistrust and solitude. After a childhood spent in the foster-care system, she is unable to get close to anybody, and her only connection to the world is through flowers and their meanings. Now eighteen and emancipated from the system with nowhere to go, Victoria realizes she has a gift for helping others through the flowers she chooses for them. But an unexpected encounter with a mysterious stranger has her questioning what’s been missing in her life. And when she’s forced to confront a painful secret from her past, she must decide whether it’s worth risking everything for a second chance at happiness.

Erika and Paige, drop in when you can, we're usually there until at least 8:30. And yes, I tend to grab the tables to the left, by the windows, but it depends on what tables are open when I get there, so just look around for a group and a meet-up sign on the table. And Shay, you're more than welcome to join in - reading (or finishing) the book isn't required (but be prepared for spoilers :-) ). See everyone soon!

Glad new and "old" members are coming tonight. You are free to leave whenever you need to go. I guess it lasts about one hour. Arriving a bit late is okay...I'm guessing the group normally sits over by the windows on your left when you enter (go there after getting your food).... Hope that's accurate...Susan? Best, Beth If you didn't finish the book, please come anyway...

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
