Movie and Book Discussion: "The Life of Pi" by Yann Martel

My apologies everyone for not getting this set up a couple of days ago when I could have checked the movie schedule.

Because "The Life of Pi" is not showing at the Anjelika this week, we are going to move the meetup to Inwood Village at Inwood Rd and Lover's Lane. The movie is playing at 1:40 pm at the Landmark Inwood--5458 W. Lovers Lane, Dallas, TX 75209 | (214) 764-9106.

After the film we will meet at Bread Winners Cafe & Bakery in Inwood Village--5560 W. Lovers Ln., Ste. 260 (Preston Park Dr.), Dallas, TX 75209. It is on the backside of the center and faces South. The Landmark Inwood Theater faces Lover's Lane on the north.

If you have seen the film or would like to just meet us for the discussion, please let me know to look for you.

You can find me by the concession stand inside the theater until 1:30. We will go in to get seats at that time.

I read the book, "The Life of Pi" about a decade ago so I don't remember it well but I know that I really liked it at the time. Now I have seen the previews for the film and thought it would be a great idea to plan to read it again and to see the movie. The film is scheduled for release at the end of November but the schedules won't be available until then. I would like to let it be out for a week and then hold the meetup.

The meetup would be on a Sunday afternoon. We will plan to go to the film in the early afternoon and then meet for dinner at Cafe Express to discuss the film and the book.  The dates and times are tentative until the movie is released.

In the meantime, you can find old copies of the book at a used bookstore or get it in audio or digital versions.

Here is the new schedule for the "Life of Pi" meetup event. We are changing to the Landmark Inwood Theater and Breadwinners for the discussion afterward. The movie starts at 1:30 rather than 2:00. I apologize for any inconvenience. Please update your RSVP.
