District Conventions

We will be nominating candidates for State House, State Senate, and U.S. House in districts that cover more than one county.

Here are the candidates seeking nominations in districts relevant to Dallas County:

NOTA stands for "None of the Above" and is always an option in Libertarian Party nominations.

Good convention. I just wish some of the other candidates. or their representatives, could have attended. It would have been a great opportunity to share information, strategies and philosophy. I appreciate the group's vote of confidence. And I also appreciate the criticisms made of my goals. But it's still not clear to me what those criticisms are - in specific terms. Thoroughly review my website. There's a portion toward the end where I encourage folks to tell me what they like and dislike about my assertions. I really want to know more about the 20% problem.

Although I'm not into whips and chains, I sincerely appreciate constructive criticism. If my Libertarian friends fail to point out my "shortcomings," "errors of my ways," spelling and grammar mistakes, later this year the Republican and Democrat opposition will show no mercy.

Besides wrinkled skin and gray hair, there's two things geisers acquire with age - patience and "thick skin." Ask Ron Paul. Mac

Haha.. yup (typo). This was way back when I was a kid and I guess the word either wasn't in the dictionary or it was but my mom thought it wasn't. :-) I did a quick search for history of "y'all" on google but couldn't find the exact year it was added.

"ya'll"? you mean as opposed to "y'all" which is in the Merriam-Webster dictionary while "ya'll" is not? :)

Jordan: Could also be an ugly or an old woman. Don't discriminate. :)

Seth: My mother is a huge "ya'll" advocate. She almost started a campaign of her own many years ago to petition the Oxford English Dictionary people to have it added.

And if it could be either a male or female, that means it still could be a lovely young woman.

Yes, but only in the plural.

Thanks for the reference. I think I was stuck on looking for the phrase "none of the above".

    6) Declining to nominate candidate for public office
Party Rule IV.5.J.6 "A Convention may decline to nominate any candidate for public office, even if there are persons seeking the Party?s nomination for that office."

Also, in some parts of the county guy is either a male or a female. Haven't you ever heard someone say "you guys" when referring to males and females?

By the way, where does it talk about NOTA for candidates in the LPTX bylaws? I only found it in the section on electing party officers, or in cases where approval voting is used when there are two or more candidates.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
