Big History is new discipline which covers all time from the Big Bang to the present and includes numerous disciplines. Professor Mears will address three overriding questions: What is the essential nature of Big History? Why has it recently developed as a field of research and teaching? And what do we gain by putting topics of concern in a framework of cosmic evolution - the largest conceivable perspective?

Professor Mears, is a specialist in early modern Europe, received his undergraduate education at the University of Minnesota and his graduate training at the University of Chicago. He is a past president of the World History Association and a member of the
recently organized International Big History Association. Having published a range of articles and essays on the subject of Big
History, he is currently working on what has become a two-volume work tentatively entitled " To Be Human: A Perspective on our Common History." There he sets forth an interpretation of human experience as an integral dimension of the epic of evolution.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
