Tiger Photo Shoot

6:30 AM

Whataburger Restaurant at Central Expressway
445 N. Central Expressway
McKinney, TX 75070

Cost: $50.00

Update: 12/15/11

Not sure why the RSVP was closed but there is no limit on the number of people on this one.

Bring a friend!

For those of you who are new to the group, this is a rescue center for large cats.
Pug Mark has been one of the yearly photo shoots we have been doing for many years.
All proceeds go to feeding, vet care, and general expenses of the cats.

This photo shoot is set up and run though Tom Hicks (not that tom hicks) at Texas Photo Forum.
All payments will be made when we get to the site.

We will meet at the Wataburger at 6:30 AM and drive as out to the site as one caravan. If you get there to late, you missed the boat.

Take a look at the site for more photos and some comments from other photographers.

The Cats
What you will see are 2 Siberian Tigers and one female Lion.
The cats are in beautiful shape.
The $50 will get us 2 hrs or so of shooting , Overcast days would be best, and shoot from 7:30 to 9: 30 in the mornings when they are most active and playing.
You can use flash on these cats because of the heavy shadows.

This is outside!! It looks like it WILL BE COLD so dress appropriately.

If it rains it will be muddy - So No Nice Shoes !

What you need:
If you have a flash you can use it. The cats are very familiar with the flashing and if its overcast you will need it.
Long lens - Zooms are best:[masked],[masked],[masked] and so on.
The cats are very active jumping and running around.

This really is a fun time. If you have a point and shoot or a big camera, come out and see these beautify animals up close and personal. You wont regret it.

NO TRIPODS - The cats move to much and the way the place is situated, Tripods can be a problem getting in the way of people running for their life - um sorry - running to get the shot, that's what i mean.

In order to make this work best they need at least 10 people to show up.
So if you RSVP Please Show Up!
If you cant make it please let us know.
If we get less than 10 people they will cancel the event and at that point we will send you an email stating as such.

I had a ball. It was great to see animals I will never get to see in the wild up close and personal. And it was cool to be able to shoot them in such a manner as to not have fencing in my photographs. I would love to go again during another season.

I've done this shoot 7 times. These are fantastic animals! If you want to get some really playful shots bring a basketball. At the end of the shoot, with the owners permission, a basketball can be thrown in with the cats. They go NUTS playing with these things.
