I recently was "in hospital", as the British say, and it was a completely secular experience. I had knee surgery. It went well, and I'm on the mend. I'm grateful for the expertise and commitment of the medical staff, but it would've made me very uncomfortable had one of them brought up religion or prayer at that time. Does my atheism inhibit their free speech?
