How/when did you become an atheist? [or agnostic, non-theist, freethinker, humanist, pagan, or whatever label you choose for yourself]

I was a devout christian for years growing up and had an interest in history in high school but, when I would research certain biblical accounts though, I was ALWAYS unable to find reliable sources. By the time I started college I wanted to explore and learn about many different religions to satisfy my historical and cultural inquiry. However, after 4years of learning about Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Rastafarian, Nation of Islam, Scientology, Voudon, Yourba etc I came to the conclusion that religion was all bullshit that had nothing to do with historical accuracy. Disappointed, I grabbed whatever books I could to know about not believing so I read The God Delusion and God is Not Great. I learned more about the world then ever before summer of 2006 but I was afraid to call myself an atheist even though I stopped believing. Sometime in November of 2008 I finally came out of the atheist closet after watching Penn and Teller on Bullshit! I felt great relief too.
