Introduction
Howdy! I am an Aggie and atheist as well as a veteran. This is a great place to meet who feel like they are the only sane people in a world gone mad.
How/when did you become an atheist?
In the army, I met my first atheist and was shocked that someone actually did not take out "eternity insurance" as my belief had devolved to. I had long ago stopped believing in religion but gave up the idea of god about ten years ago.

You will find people that have one commonality...atheism or at least questioning the prevalent religions. I found that beyond this you will find people who have far ranging and diverse views on everything else from what is the best wine for a certain food to politics; atheism is not monolithic and this group is confirmation of that. Most newcomers will talk about their deconversion and the problems they face with being an "out-of-the-closet" atheist but after a few meetings most people talk about anything and everything under the sun besides religion. You will find that the curiosity that leads people to questioning things and thus to atheism also has benefits in other areas such as politics, culture, economics, science, music, etc. All are welcome and no subject is verboten since we have no sacred cows.
