Texas Can't Misuse Education Funds Anymore

Plano, TX
Post #: 210

Wording in a federal law specifically states "Texas must use federal education funding for education". Seems like a worthless law doesn't it? But the truth is when Texas gets federal funding it uses it however it wants regardless of why it was given and this has hurt our education system. How much? How about $3.2 billion last year that wasn't even used for education at all? This year another $820M has been diverted for emergency funding for Texas schools and the introduced bill would require Texas, specifically, to use it for education.

Perry hates it because it makes it hard to funnel that money into his and his boys club's business. Of course, he didn't quite put it that way, but I'm the babel fish of politician speak.

This also opens the door for the feds to say, "Creationism isn't science estupidos and therefore not education. You want federal funds, teach science!"

A good event.

Now watch how the religious nuts around Perry and people like Don McLemore quietly attempt to undermine the English language in an effort to broaden the definition of words like "education" and "science". This may be a trigger event that will make the sheep's clothing fall the rest of the way. Either they will attempt to get Creationism redefined as a science, or, failing that, to get Evolution removed from the category of "science".

Just watch...
