Would anyone be interested in having an extra meeting sometime in March to just discuss "Darwin's Radio"? Place and time would be whenever was most convenient.

I'll add a new meetup for 3/14 at at 1:59:26 (not really, 7) at the half price books. Pie is always welcome. I love pi and pie.

Picked Greg Bear and his wife up at their hotel this morning at 9:15 and dropped them back off at 3:15...one of the most interesting 6 hours of my dorky life.

It's quite a coincidence that the book we were to review and a talk by Greg Bear happened on the same evening. It was a great talk and also provided insight into what inspired him to write Darwin's Radio.

I joined this group a while back, but unfortunately i've haven't had the time to attend the meetings (graduate student).
I will be at this event, however, because i'm president of the UTD Science Fiction and Fantasy club.. Bear is being brought in by the Center for Values to talk about technology and medicine, but i'm sure he will answer any book questions everybody has. He will be talking to our club from 11:30 till 1:00 the next day in the student union to answer all of our nerdy questions (we've read Blood Music, Darwin's Radio, and Hull Zero Three). Any of you guys sneak into that meeting, you didn't hear it from me. *wink*
On Friday, i actually get to drive him and his wife to the airport, so I'm compiling a list of questions in order to avoid uncomfortable silences.
We had John Crowley last semester ( club got a signed manuscript from him) and we are working on getting Paolo Bacigalupi and Michael Moorcock in the future.

I will take the train up. I know how to get there cause I did it twice a week for a year. If someone could drop me at a station after the talk, that would be great. :)

I say we meet this month at the Greg Bear talk for SciFi book club. We can ask him all about Darwin's Radio and what it really means.

Do you realize that Greg Bear is giving a talk in person, at UTD at 7:30pm on the same evening as you are reviewing his book?
