Work Night

We've talked a lot about making games the past couple of months, now it's time to work on them. If you have a game that you've been working on and want to get some feedback on it or are looking for some people to help, bring it. If you would like to help someone out with their project bring some things that you've done to show off.

Ah I didnt notice this fell on my sons birthday. We're doing the cake things and some presents so I wont be able to make it. Bummer! I have an early alpha of a game Im producing I wanted to run by you all for feedback.

Since I wont be there in person if anyone happens to need sound for their projects let me know. I am a full time game composer and sound designer. The game Im producing is more of a hobby side thang.

hope I can make the next meetup and Ill be at the drinkup this thursday for those that attend that.

Not sure if anyone is interested but this is something I've been playing around with in my free time. Not the greatest idea but if anyone wants to talk about it if be happy to share at the meet up http://axzs99.cu.cc/dev/ds2d/src/game.html

What is going to be the (at least theoretical) end result? I see you recording click type events, I'm guessing with HTML5, but what is going to be the purpose of this?

It started as a test case for determining how viable HTML5 & JavaScript are as a game platform. Also it was to help immerse me in the realm of javascript. This particular "experience" if you will, is a port of something I had built in Flash a year ago. I haven't really done much with this but the original game idea was a top-down RTS type single player game. The idea was to have you mine asteroids and defend various resources from in-solar-system enemies. Eventually you'd build up enough tech as this section progress to open up interstellar travel to new systems, where it then MIGHT become a multiplayer game. Honestly though, I have no idea where this is going. I was hoping others had some vision for it and might want to work together in their free time.

I've missed the initial meetings but am looking forward to this. I have a few game ideas that I'd love to get some input on as well as maybe find some collaborators for development. I have projects in both Flash as well as Javascript/HTML5 Canvas. Ping me before this meetup if you'd like to maybe talk more about them? I;m really excited for this!
