An Evening with Eric Reiss, Author of Usable Usability

Please join the Dallas UX Meetup as we present an evening with Eric Reiss to celebrate the publication of his new book, Usable Usability: Simple Steps for Making Stuff Better -- now available on Amazon. Eric is great presenter and CEO of The FatDUX Group.

Eric will be sharing his experience of how to understand user’s needs, techniques for exceeding user's expectations, and a host of hard won advice for improving the overall quality of a user’s experience. The talk will be followed by a book signing and social time.

Eric Reiss has been meddling with design projects for longer than he cares to remember. Besides running FatDUX, Eric lectures on design principles at the Bauhaus University in Weimar, is a former Professor of Usability and Design at the IE Business School in Madrid.

He serves on the advisory boards of several universities and institutes in both Europe and the United States. His Web Dogma, a design philosophy that transcends both fashion and technology, has been adopted by 1000s of developers and companies around the world.

This is also your chance to check out our host, Connective Hub, a state-of-the-art meeting place for local startups and entrepreneurs in Addison, Texas.  You will see Michael Bailey, the owner at the meeting.  Plus, you will get a tour of their facility.

  • 7:00 -- Registration and Networking
  • 7:30 -- Announcements
  • 7:40 -- Presentation by Eric Reiss
  • 8:30 -- Q&A (Bring Your Book for a Book Signing)

Please note that we are working quickly to put this event together and changes in the plans are very likely. If you would like to sponsor this "must-attend" event, please call or text Brian Sullivan at[masked]-7668.

Special Thanks:

A very special thanks to Michael Bailey of Connective Hub, who kindly donated their meeting space.  You are going to love their space!

Eric was fantastic. I really appreciated his great examples to illustrate his points. His book Usable Usability is really great, too.

Eric gave a fantastic overview of UX and usability, with many real-world examples to chew on. Great speaker, good crowd, good location. Who could ask for more?

I am ordering 10 of his books, which will be available to purchase at the event. The publisher contacted me right away. I am working out the details now. His most recent book is called Usable Usability.
