Dallas Crafters Marathon - September

I would like to invite you all to the MONTHLY crop of the Dallas Crafters Marathon.  This is a great space for crafting, to see pictures of the space check out our website www.dallascraftersmarathon.com.

How long does this last? This event lasts from Friday (6pm to Midnight) Saturday (10 am to Midnight) to Sunday (10am to 3pm). You may leave your projects overnight if you wish.

Who are we? We are a group of crafty people that like to craft together and share ideas, it's that simple. We are not Direct Sales Consultants who have classes at our Meetup to promote sales.

Where are we?  We have gotten feedback that the location is difficult to find the first time.  We are on the Southeast corner of Parker and Alma.  Turn in between 7-11 and Shipley Donuts we are the suite directly in the path of this drive way in between the Indian Restaurant and the Hair Salon.  We will have a banner up with our name on it.

Amenities: A six foot table (there are two large round tables that two persons could share), WIFI, folding chair,  lounging couch, kitchen with 2 full size fridges, microwave, coffee pot, bathrooms and soda and snacks for a small fee on the honor system (you may bring your own if you like). Close to local restaurants and big box craft stores. You will also meet wonderful crafty people to share ideas and projects!

Who can attend?  We are open to adult men and women crafters above the age of 15. We can accommodate quilters, sewing groups, stampers, scrapbookers, jewelry makers etc!

How much does it cost?  There is a small fee of $25 for the entire weekend; or if you can only make one or two days the fees are as follows: Friday only $10, Saturday only $15 , Sunday only $10.  You may reserve your spot by Paypal-ing me your fee upon RSVPing (be sure to include your name and if you will only be attending one day and which day that is). If you register at the door the fees are the same; but your spot is not reserved.

What do I need to bring?  Bring your projects and supplies to work on.  If you plan on painting or doing a messy project, please bring a dollar store shower curtain liner to the event (there is a Dollar General in the shopping center).  We must protect the tables and carpet.  If you need electrical, bring an extension cord, we have limited electrical outlets.  Bring a cushion for your chair, or if necessary a comfortable computer chair.

If you would like to be a vendor, or have a class please email me separately.  We can post these events separately and work out the cost of using the facility.  There are two separate rooms, so crafting can go on in one room and a class in the other.

Email me or Facebook Message me with any questions or concerns.  [masked]
Hope to see you there!

OMG! I had every intention oncoming. Was packed up and ready to go, but something came up with one of my girls. I was just planning on attending one day but if someone wants my space, they are more than welcomed to it. I really miss seeing you gals :( I'll try again next month.

Says that Sept is full with only 18 attending? Guess we only have half this month? Trying to get "The Cupcake Girls" to rally :)

It's because only one room is available. Someone already rented the other for that day.

Donna had sent out a message to the group last Saturday regarding September and why there was a reduced headcount. There are two of our fellow crafters that wanted to rent the space to raise money by having a breast cancer crop with their group of crafters. We agreed to split up our normal headcount and help their cause during our regular September DCM event. With that said, we cannot have a waiting list, the other group has a specific head count allotted to them. Closer to the date of the crop, if they have available spots, we will add some headcount to our meetup group. The organizers hope you all understand. We will not make this common practice, however, the organizers felt this was a worthy cause.

If you have any further questions, please let us know.

If anyone wants to sell their spot for the DCM crop, you are welcome to post in the comments and work with that person directly.

Have a great Labor Day weekend getting your craft on!

There's a good chance my Saturday slot will be up for grabs; I think an out-of-town friend will be in town that day.

Hi Donna, could you open a wait list please? How come the available number is so small this month? Is something fun going on in the other room? :-)

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
