If you like Settlers of Catan, you should check out a game called "Xplorers" on this web site:

http://games.asobrain...

It's free and it's VERY addicting!

They also have a Carcassone-like game called Toulouse

Yeah its unfortunate. I have so many friends who want to sign up. Alternatively, you can play at www.playcatan.com for free. However, you'll have to pay if you want to play the Cities & Knights expansion.

Unfortunately the site in the OP probably did not get permission to copy Settlers or Carcassonne and that may be why they have disabled registration.

Try www.yucata.de, www.spielbyweb.com, www.brettspielwelt.de for sites that have legitimate versions of board games.

Yucata is my favorite - don't be put off by the German when you first visit, there is a link to visit the site in English. They have about 30 or 40 different games and the UIs tend to be decent and intuitive (with some exceptions). It's all turned based, so you can play at your leisure, and it is very easy to get people into a game -- just create one and it will likely fill pretty fast.

Here is why they disabled registration:

There is also an official statement from the creators of Catan in which they state they have an agreement with Asobrain, so Asobrain is perfectly legal.

I stand corrected :) Thanks for the info.

Still recommend the other sites though, they're great!
