Winterizing Your Flock

Come visit with Jeff Raska from A&M AgriLife Extension Service to learn what to do (and not to do) to get your backyard flock ready for the colder months ahead! Jeff will address general chicken info as well as housing, bedding, feeding, healthcare and choosing the best breeds for the backyard flock.

A Q&A session is encouraged and will follow the presentation. The class is free but we need a proper headcount for planning purposes.

Be sure to share with all your friends and those that are interested in raising backyard chickens - and keeping them happy and healthy through the winter! All attendees will receive a special gift from Gecko Hardware!

Jeff gave a great presentation, answering questions as we went along. I could really use his chickens 101 in the future as well as heat care for the summer.

We will do that soon at Gecko too, Norman. I will post it here and try to give more notice next time. I had a little trouble getting this class to post, but finally figured out what I was doing wrong.

I will not make this event as I just noticed it this morning. I was hoping that we could organize a trip to some local breeders in the early Spring. There are many that are within an hour of Dallas.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
