Another "101" Meetup

! hour seminar covering all of the startup topics (Housing, nutrition, sanitation, laws & ordinances, breed selection, what to look for when buying a hen, and more!). There is a lot of this information available through links on my website, and a good place to start your research - http://polishfarm.com/favotitelinks.html - or you can always come out to the farm (45 mins east of downtown Dallas) and see how the birds are raised and housed.

Thanks to the folks at North Haven for hosting up.

    Dan,
No problem, I understand how those things go. No worries. What is the Facebook page for you/the group? I'd love to see it. Also, thanks for the offer of help. I'll email you at polishfarm.com.

Sorry Dan (I called you Bob in my review) to come in late. It was a great meeting and we learded much!

It was very informative. We are now more at ease with the thought of raising chickens with the information we learned. Bob is a hoot! Sorry we came in late...MeetUp had start time at 11:00.

I sincerely apologzed for the error, the room was booked in December, and I didn't catch the typo. During the winter months I start later because of the cooler temps. I did send out a reminder on 3/15 stating the correct start time, it was listed on North Haven's site correctly, and I facebooked it.... but I missed the error in the original posting on this site. Please feel free to email me at polishfarm.com, or call me with any questions you have or help that I can give you.

Unfortunately, the meetup time was listed incorrectly! It was apparently at 10am instead of 11am as listed by this meetup group. I drove from Arlington to learn about chickens and was an hour late. This was my first meetup. Hopefully this is an isolated occurrence.

This was to be my first ever meet up event and my first ever class to learn about chickens. I was so excited!!! But, then I got there at 11am only to find out the that class was actually at 10am. Bummer. It would have been great to have had the correct information! I guess there is someone in charge of making sure the correct info is posted, no? The folks that looked at North Haven Gardens website or signs knew that it was at 10am. Oh well, drivers beware, I guess.

I am sorry, I missed your posting and was at North Haven Gardens in Dallas today with a bunch od pullets and layers of various breeds.
March 17 (St Patties Day) I will do another Bachyard Chickens "101" seminar for those who are just beginning to get into fresh eggs. After the seminar I will have pullets and layers for sale off of my stock trailer in the parking lot. If you are in need of a coop, I have several extra here on the farm, please email me if interested.

We are wanting to either buy or make some chicken coops today, and get some chickens. Any suggestions on where to buy some? We live in Hurst, and want to go get a coop today. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks

    Hi all -
I've got a small backyard coop in Richardson with 9 hens and 1 roo. I'd be happy to give a personal quick tour to one or two people at a time and possibly hold a larger meetup in the future. If anyone is really looking for some ideas and/or assistance, feel free to message me and I'd be glad to let you come by anytime!
