Announcing a new Meetup for The Dallas Backyard Poultry Meetup Group!

What: Promise of Peace Community Garden Eco Festival

When: Saturday, April 24,[masked]:00 PM

Promise of Peace Community Garden
7446 East Grand
Dallas, TX 75214

The Promise of Peace Community Garden group is having a Eco Festival this Saturday, April 24 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the garden, 7446 East Grand. The garden is on Garland Road (East Grand turns into Garland Road), just past Gaston and across from Mexico Lindo. Cas Loma actually dead ends into the garden.

Festival tickets are $5 dollars for a family 4-pack. Call 214.240.9220.

Organizer Elizabeth Dry is looking for someone willing to bring a couple of chickens for a hen-weighing game for the kids. They would just guess which hen weighs the most -- NO HANDLING. Also, if you have a little coop that could be on display to bring awareness to this sustainable method, please let her know: ejdry54@yahoomail

The festival includes:
*Green vendors & activities
*Sate Representative Allen Vaught will dedicate City Green Playhouses from the Dallas Arboretum.
*Tickets will also be sold for POP's 100-mile dinner & dancing event at the White Rock Lake Filter Building on May 13 from 6 to 10 pm. The 5-course dinner will be prepared by chefs including Graham of Bolsa and Janice of Parigi. Wine provided by Times Ten Cellars. Learn about local farms with guest speaker Craig Keaton of the Movement and Urban Acres Market.

This is not an official meetup for our group, but this is the best way for me to let you know about events you may be interested in attending.
