Media Madness!

It's time to clear off those bookshelves and clean out the closets!  Join us for a media exchange and potluck sandwich lunch.

We have had an exchange in the past and it was very successful!  It's time to clear out some clutter and do it again!

We will exchange books, magazines, CDs, DVDs, and any other media (software, VCR tapes, etc.) you want to get rid of/donate/trade. Bring children's stuff, adults' stuff, fiction, and nonfiction.   But don't stop there!  We will also trade toys, purses, household items, old electronics, clothing, art supplies, and more!  Bring anything and everything!   We will lay out everything by category (adult books, child books, child DVDs, adult DVDs, etc.).

We will have time to browse the items while eating our lunch, then take turns choosing items to take home.  We will have a system so families can take about the same amount as what they brought.  (Any ideas of how to make it fair are appreciated.)  Any leftover items will be sent to Goodwill or sold at Half-Price books with profits going toward our meetup fees and activities.

Sign up in your RSVP to bring something related to submarine sandwiches: buns, condiments (mayo, mustard, spicy mustard, Italian dressing, etc.), toppings (veggies, cheese, meats), drinks, chips and dip, or a light dessert.

I hope to see everyone there! It will be quite a fun time, and you'll walk away with all sorts of new goodies.

Thanks so much Shannon, we had a great time! And I can't believe how much stuff we got! (Sylvia went a little nuts, she's quite the shopper!) And that's great about the $30!

We had a great time yesterday! I took the leftover clothes and home items to the Goodwill trailer yesterday. Today I took the rest of the "media" to Half Price Books. We made $30 with the leftover items! The employee and HPB said most of the money came from the DVD's and hard back books. Thank you to everyone who donated items! We will do it again next year at the Schulte house.

This meetup was tons of fun! It is so exciting to get to choose "new" items. I love the holiday books that I got and the sweaters, magazines and bath stuff. My kids love their new books and games. I took the leftover clothes and home items to the Goodwill trailer yesterday. I will take the rest to Half Price books today and post the total $$ received. Thank you everyone for making a fun afternoon!

We are looking forward to our meetup on Sunday! We will set everything out by category and browse the items while eating our lunch. Afterward, we will take turns choosing items. Round 1, everyone can pick 1 item. Round 2 everyone can pick 2 items and so on.. until we are done! See you there!
