Hope everyone is having a great year so far! We have been reflecting on some of our more successful meetups in the past and would like to repeat them as well as try some new things. I have reached out to members asking for feedback of what they would like to see Dallas Brights do in 2013.
Coming up on our calendar for Sunday, Feb. 10 is our annual Darwin Day celebration. This year we will be making Great Story Bead necklaces, which are actually a timeline of the history of our universe.
We had suggestions for several outdoor activities which we will start putting on the calendar once we get some warmer weather. These include trips to Ceder Ridge Nature Preserve - Dallas, Klyde Warren Park - Downtown Dallas, Star Party - Frisco and continuing our annual camping trips.
Some indoor field trip suggestions included, ice skating, nickel arcade, Perot Museum, bowling, Sea Life aquarium and pottery painting. I'd love to get hosts for these events!
We will continue with some home get togethers, including our annual Back To School Bash, as well as having Science Sunday meetups a few times a year. We also are considering doing a game night and movie night.
Activities for our youngest members will be during the weekdays. We have an upcoming activity bag exchange and will have preschool art meetups several times a year.
We will have a few holiday parties throughout the year. We are already working on a candle making activity for next HumanLight and have possibly already found a new location for our annual party.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions for our meetup. Looking forward to 2013!
