Club AJAX - Mike Wilcox, The History of HTML5 - Bob Byron, JavaScript Regular Expressions

Mike Wilcox

History of HTML5

With all the talk about HTML5, it's hard to believe it was started 6 years ago, and we already have a history, but we do. We will discuss HTML's past and how we got to this point. ?

Bob Byron

JavaScript Regular Expressions - A Primer

Regular expressions are a powerful tool in the arsenal of any programmer, yet they just might not stumble on them before they have written a lot of code to do their own string processing. Make sure your team knows about regular expressions and further, make sure they know how to use them. This library is incredibly useful and can help you with most any data parsing and matching. You can easily validate data, find words, find word fragments, or maybe just remove HTML tags from your string. Whatever the reason, you will do yourself, your team, and your business a favor if you will make it one of core technologies they know.

New Look

Club AJAX has a new look! Bob Byron and Mike Wilcox still run the local DFW AJAX User Group, but the website will now be blog-focused to provide more information about AJAX to a wider audience.

In addition to our blog and news, we will provide resources from our monthly Club AJAX user group meetings. Most of the meetings are recorded and available in the Videos section. Depending on the format, the Presentations themselves will be posted, or linked to if possible. And any code-alongs, demos, or examples will be available in our Examples section.

If you live in the area, come to the meetings! If nothing else you get free pizza provided by one of our many sponsors!
