Please join us for our first-ever in-city meditation retreat, led by sangha member Will Handy, structured around the teachings of Ani Pema Chodron.
"Someone says a harsh word and something in you tightens. Instantly you are hooked! That tightness quickly spirals into blaming the person or denigrating yourself."
This is how Pema Chödrön describes habitual patterns of response. A word is spoken, an action takes place, and we respond with a knee-jerk reaction.
During this week of meditation, we'll work with Pema Chödrön's DVD series Choosing a Fresh Alternative to help us begin to interrupt this chain reaction. This non-residential group retreat will provide the framework for deepening our meditation practice of calm abiding as taught in the Shambhala Buddhist tradition.
This program is appropriate for new and experienced meditators.
Come for the full retreat or just one day.
Cost: Full retreat, $240; Per day, $40.
