Living with Uncertainty
A Mindfulness Retreat with DaeJa Napier
2013 February 01 – 03
(Friday 6:00 PM – Sunday 11:00 AM)
Praxis Retreat House, Telephone TX
We long for peace and balance in a world that seems to be made up of opposing forces. What can the tools of mindfulness offer us toward deeper listening, tolerance that support living with wise understanding and kindness towards ourselves and others? Essential to living a sane balanced life, patience is the prerequisite for cultivating all wholesome forces of inner strength in one’s practice and partnership with an increasingly turbulent world.
This retreat will focus on cultivating a mindful perspective, developing patience, along with equanimity and metta (loving-kindness), in order to protect the heart from falling into reactivity.
The schedule will include reflections and instructions, periods of sitting and walking meditation, an optional afternoon discussion period and an evening dharma talk.
This retreat is appropriate for new and experienced students. Those new to the practice of mindfulness can expect to leave with confidence in their ability to apply what they have learned in daily life.
Registration: $150 (includes two nights lodging and meals)
