HERBS: Grow, Harvest, Preserve, Cook, Craft, & Marvel at Herbs
Learn from “2012 Hunt County Master Gardener of the Year" Pat Abramson who shares her knowledge and enthusiasm for HERBS. Discover which herbs grow well in our area, and which herbs you'll want to plant for a self-sustainable lifestyle. Pat & her husband Arnie moved to the country 12 years ago because they wanted to learn to be self-sufficient. (Pat even grows her own grains and can grind them by hand if necessary!) She'll share the best way of harvesting and preserving herbs. Pat will identify some herbs that have been scientifically proven to contribute to staying healthy. Pat grows over 100 different herbs on their 38-acre farm in Merit. Those who RSVP in advance will be guaranteed free herb seeds and a handout about "How to Grow, Harvest, Preserve, Cook with, Craft with & Marvel at What You Didn't Think Were Herbs!”
Free but must RSVP as library space is limited. Library doors open at 10 am.
