FREE Permaculture and Water: How to Have Sustainable, Viable Water on Your Land

Permaculture says nothing happens on any land without consistent water. The principles here can be used to drought proof an acreage, large or small, or in some cases, even a city lot. This DVD takes the viewer with Permaculturist Geoff Lawton and his students to lay out a sustainable water design on a farm. This is done through Permaculture water systems of swales, pond locations, planting the property correctly, and taming the water flow across property. Lawton has built these water systems successfully in over 27 different countries and he and Bill Mollison have taught it to thousands of students internationally--“greening” the desert in many places like Jordan. Certainly this can green North Central teas
Lawton teaches the following concepts in a 60-minute video:
· Inspecting the site for design
· Surveying and understanding contours and problem areas
· Planning the site using laser and 2-person levels
· Connecting swales to maximise Water Harvesting
· Briefing excavator drivers and what to look for
· Clearing the site, subsoils and problem areas
· Establishing the pond keyways, waterline level and freeboard
· Building the dam and how to keep it from washing out
· Spillways and diversion channels
· and much more
