16-day class in true Sustainable Living from renewable energy to growing organic food to Permaculture plus natural zero-energy homes, designing a food forest, homesteading, life in intentional communities, more.
You will design a green compressed earth block home with rainwater harvesting (including potable water) and solar energy for living off grid as well as a food forest
It will start Nov 17 and will last for 16 days or 8 weekends at two weekends per month (we all need a breather). This is not a Permaculture Design Course (PDC) although we will cover everything normally covered in the PDC course except arid and tropical climates.
The course will include hands-on projects and field trips as well as multiple teachers and outside speakers. It will primarily be held in Greenville, TX, with projects n that area and in & around DFW.
The cost is $275 for the 16 day course if you pay in advance, $50 per weekend or $35 per day--your choice as long as space is available. People who pay in advance have space priority. There are full scholarships available for young farmers (age 19-36) who fit requirements.
