This week we will hear from Lisa Leach of the Plano West Rotary Club regarding the 2013 Rotary International Convention in Lisbon, Portugal. Lisa was among Rotary leaders from across the world who gathered to discuss Rotary's role in challenges and opportunities around the world. Rotarians from more than 225 countries and geographic areas convened under the theme of peace. Rotary International President Sakuji Tanaka, who selected Peace Through Service as this year's RI theme, shared how he came to make a connection between peace and service. The Rotary International Convention in Portugal included thought-provoking speakers and a full schedule of plenary and breakout sessions.

Absolutely! We created this Meetup to reach out to people in the community who might be interested in our club. In addition to the folks who have RSVPd here, we have several members of our club who attend to.
What will it be like?
We meet at the second floor of Mattito's. There will be a registration table and then we have a buffet lunch. Around noon we call the meeting to order and have a few announcements before our meeting program.
Rotary meetings usually contain a program consisting of a speaker and usually that is an external speaker to the club. This week are speaker is Lisa Leach from the Plano West Rotary Club who will discuss her experience as one of the Rotary leaders who gathered in Portugal last year for Rotary International Convention.
Do I need to bring anything?
Nope, your first time lunch is free.
What should a newcomer expect?
You will be welcomed at our check in table and we will ask you to sign in on the visitors sign in. At the beginning of the meeting, we read off a list of our visitors and visiting Rotarians from other clubs. We will spend a few minutes on club business and then will have a program for about 25 minutes.
