  • Saturday, August 17, 2013: We continue our discussion of how the hexagrams relate to the nuclear hexagrams.

Iching-hexagram-37.svg This month we will study the four hexagrams that have
    Hexagram 37 (The Family)
    as their nuclear hexagram:

Hexagram 37 家人 (jiā rén) The Family

    Hexagram 06 訟 (sòng) Conflict

    Hexagram 10 履 (lǚ) Treading

Hexagram 47 困 (kùn) Oppression (Exhaustion)

Hexagram 58 兌 (duì) Lake (Joy)

Our meetings begin with a light lunch, and then we study together one of the sixty-four Yi Jing hexagrams in detail, or study two or more related hexagrams. The lunch is often a potluck lunch at a member's home, but sometimes we decide to meet at a local tea house or restaurant. Please refer to the meeting announcement for more specific details about the meeting for that month.

No prior knowledge of the Yi Jing (I Ching) is required. Our members have different levels of experience and different approaches. We welcome all who would like to attend.

Those people that have translations of the Yi Jing are encouraged to bring their translations to the meeting. A portion of the meeting usually includes a comparison of the different translations. Extra copies of English translations of the Yi Jing are available for those that do not have a translation.

Our meetings usually last 2+ hours, but people are free to leave the meeting whenever they need to go.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact our organizers.
