Be a Fellow Reader at the DANBURY AREA BOOK CLUB
Enjoy a book club that is social, welcoming and reads great books! We value each member's unique view and appreciate lively discussions.
The Danbury Area Book Club is a social club as well as a traditional book club where we read older books, newer books, bestsellers, insider suggestions and anything in between and discuss them. It's a wonderful opportunity to meet new people in a comfortable setting and to connect with other bookworms in the area.
Book titles include literary fiction, non-fiction, memoirs, biographies and anything else we might come upon. Suggestion are always welcome and we have a running list for future picks.
The group will vote on the books for each month after taking suggestions. Meetings are every 3rd Thursday of the month.
Also be aware that Meetup.com charges Organizer dues to run this book club site. To offset the costs we have a Membership of $15.00 for a year (12 months - which will be due at your first attended meetup) or $5 per meetup.
If you join but do not attend (1) meetup within 6 months, you will be removed from the group. If you haven't attended a meetup in over a year, I usually will email you first to see if you are still interested. If I don't hear from you, you will be removed with option to re-join at a later, more convenient, time. While this is not necessarily just about the money aspect, it helps to maintain the site with all members benefiting.
