Build a 3D Printer This Saturday - Open to Everyone

The kind folks at Cohen & Wolf donated a Printrbot Jr. 3D printer kit, and on Saturday we're going to put it together. Feel free to come for the entire event or just stop by and say hello. We're not sure we'll finish on Saturday but we should be able to get a lot done.

Please park at City Hall and walk down to the Library, about a block and a half.

Thanks also to the Danbury Library team for letting us use one of their meeting rooms.

Please RSVP so we know how many to expect. This event is open to the public and anyone can help!

If you're coming tomorrow and have an iPad or large Android tablet could you bring it? We might break up into 3 groups and we'll be using the instructions and videos to put the PrintrBot together.

I've built my own printers as you know, But I'll be there to offer expert advise and assist if needed.

Here's a link to a text file with some build notes for the PrintrBot JR. (We completed the build last weekend.)

We did it as a father/son project over the course of several weekends. Home sick then Easter weekend finished it up. Probably 8-10 hours, all told. Having done it, I could probably build one solo in a couple of hours, give our take distractions/snacks. Once assembled, it just worked, which was a surprise. (That NEVER happens! )

We'll have more events like this. I'd like to have events just for kids over the summer, starting after the Innovation Center opens.

Sorry we won't be able to attend: We will be in Danbury later in the day on Saturday, and will stop in if we can (and if you haven't already completed it). I'll look through our build notes and forward anything that jumps out. Have fun!
