****PLEASE RSVP ONCE YOU HAVE PURCHASED TICKETS TO THE EVENT****
If people are interested in meeting before please note in the comments with the RSVP. We can organize drinks, food or coffee before as there are many options in the area. Also, note in the comments if you would like to carpool downtown. Afterwards, there is a meet and greet with the dancers/performers.
ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE:
In keeping with ACB’s mission of presenting ballet in venues which can provide greater intimacy and a new perspective on the art, ACB and DaCamera present DANCE+DESIGN at Gensler’s beautiful new performance space. Located within Gensler’s LA headquarters, the space overlooks downtown LA through a glass backdrop behind the performers. DANCE+DESIGN 2013 is a rare opportunity to learn about the design of dance in a place dedicated to the art of design.
500 S. Figueroa St., Los Angeles, CA 90071
Pre-meetup before the dance performance:
Time: 7pm for drinks (please email me if interested in dinner and we can make reservation)
The show is at the Gensler, which is in the LA Live Arts area of downtown with plenty of options for places to meet before the show.
Here are 2 suggestions for drinks beforehand that are a block from the Gensler.
Suggestion No. 1
Engine Company No. 28, a historical firehouse from 1913 that was restored in 1989 and now houses a beautiful restaurant and bar. We can meet at the bar for a drink -- they have a happy hour special and some bar food if people want. Check the link below. If people are interested in dinner please let me know and we will make a reservation. Also, bring cash so you can pay your own bill and not worry about splitting cards.
Suggestion No. 2
Cucina Rustica, a wine bar and Italian restaurant. They also have a happy hour special on drinks and small bar plates. Same thing if people are interested in dinner please email me directly so we can get a headcount and make a reservation. Otherwise, we can do drinks.
(PLEASE COMMENT HERE OR EMAIL ME WITH YOUR SUGGESTIONS---THIS CAN BE A FUN NIGHT OUT EXPLORING THE DOWNTOWN LA CULTURE!)
Gensler charges $15 to park and I'm not sure what street parking is like or area garages. If people would like to car pool can you make a comment and area you live to coordinate carpooling. Also, I know this is the NYer in me, but the subway stops close by (about .3 mile walk)
