Everyone's favorite debate question: Do you prefer dancing to a live band, or dancing to DJ music?

Dude! It depends on the band or the DJ, to be honest! I've seen some bands take artistic license to extend a song a marathon ten minutes, and you are totally spent at the end! Then again, I have seen DJs spin undanceable song after boring song.

Do you have any dance goals you would like to shoot for?

For some reason I keep getting solicited to do performances even though performing is something I never had as a goal. Honestly, just "getting better" is my real goal, even if performing or competing is sometimes a means to that end.

What are your favorite songs (or music) to dance to, if any?

Too many to list, & very subject to change! For Salsa, "Han Cojido La Cosa" by Grupo Niche. Hustle, "Ain't Nobody" by Chaka Kahn. WCS, "If I Had No Loot" by Toni Toni Tone. NC2S, "One Call Away" by Chingy. Samba, "Paradise" by Sade.

What kind of dance background do you have, or how long have you been dancing?

Besides what I have already mentioned, I actually first started dancing in college with a ballroom dance class which I used to fulfill a phys ed requisite. But I remember dancing to favorite music since I was a kid, even if I didn't know how!

What is your favorite type of dancing?

Tough question! I like them all honestly, but if I were forced to choose, it fall somewhere between Night Club 2 Step (so romantic) and Salsa. Believe it or not! But West Coast Swing is definitely creeping up there!

I am a Syracuse, NY area social dancer who has been training and dancing for almost five years, and am a member of the local Syracuse chapter of USA DanceSport. Let's face it. Life is about dancing. 'Nuff said!

What I-Man is saying about this Meetup Group

I like going places where you know ahead of time other dancers will be there as well. It sure beats showing up alone someplace without any one to dance with!
