Intro to dance sunday afternoon.

Right now all of our classes are customizable, and tailored for each group. Because our classes are progressive, we tend to treat each group class as a private group.

However, because we are launching this deal, we plan on launching these intro classes in rapid succession. And should fill up many time slots quickly. We need at least 10 people to launch a group.

If you had enough people interested, you could get together with 9 of your friends and create a class just for them, in a time slot that works best for the group.

DanceStar is the first dance programs to teach adults Hip Hop, Jazz, Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Lyrical, Stretch, and Latin dance classes. We specialize in adults who have little or no dance experience, but we also offer master classes for experienced dancers.

We have a 4 week intro to dance program that is designed to get your feet moving and your body pumping. By the end of the program you will have a basic understanding of the different dance styles, and enough confidence to impress your friends.

Week 1 Footwork. This class was designed to get you up on your feet and moving to the music. It uses popular Latin dance figures to get you use to moving your feet, legs, and hips to complex rhythms.

Week 2- Hip Hop. This class focuses on the upper body and teaches you how to pop, lock, and isolate.

Week 3 -Creative Movement. This class combines it all and teaches you basic Jazz, contemporary, modern and lyrical. It get you use to using your whole body to express music.

Week 4- Intro to Choreography. Now that you have the basics the real fun starts. As the instructors introduce you to a choreographed routine that utilizes all that you have learned.

Weeks 5-9 Choreography, the class picks a dance style and we spend the next 5 weeks preparing and developing unique choreo for the class that can be shown off to friends or family.

The confidence you gain from the intro program will come in handy as continue to grow and learn as a dancer. Then you can show off all your hard work to your friends and family when you perform a choreographed dance routine at one of our seasonal dance Showcase.
