I'm sharing an additional event as this is something near and dear to my heart. This year in February my boyfriend had a life changing stroke at the age of 48 due to high blood pressure. The recovery has been going slow and steady but I can't say enough for how important the American Stroke Foundation has been. He left the hospital only to be placed on a waiting list for therapy and no hope for helping his recovery. American Stroke Foundation has a program they run through the YMCA that we were able to get him involved in. This has made an incredible difference in his recovery by having a support group as well as the physical and brain therapy they offer. We invite you to come join Troy and I and others of "Troop Troy" for the American Stroke Foundation Walk. Theis Park is located just south, across the street from the Nelson Art Gallery. It's a $5 min. donation for signup. You can pay online or day of the event. You get a t-shirt for your donation. There is a pancake breakfast to start the morning off. The walk has two routes once around the park for those needing shorter distance and another route that will take you out of the park for those that really want a little workout. Please check out our link and feel free to join us for the day to honor Troy or other friends and family you know that have been affected by a stroke.
