Let's meet up and... dance with an open heart! :-)

Welcome to Dancing Bodies!

I am very happy to announce that as of Wednesday 30 April I will be running a regular ecstatic dance class at the Tour de Force Theatre in Hackney, which is known for its rich and vibrant arts and cutlure.

Wednesday 30 April, 7-9pm, Tour de Force Theatre, London, E9 7PX

So... what is Ecstatic Dance?
This is an art of self expression where you get out of your head and get into your body! A beautiful healing method which uses movement, rhythm, breath and meditation to help you:

- keep fit and energise your body

- release stress

- clear stuck emotions and facilitate a deep "let-go" experience

- experience a sense of calm, peace and joy

- empower to be present and live life fully

- access a deeper level of being

Ecstatic Dance offers an individual experience. Although we dance in a group, the invitation is to allow yourself to move how you feel. It is your own creative process. There is no right or wrong way to dance. Just come with an open heart and surrender to the music. You will have a truly beautiful experience!

Also... The method is for all, 18+ advised. Wear comfy clothes. We dance with no shoes and no socks on. Bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated. Pay on the door: £11/ £8 for students/ on benefits.

Facebook page is coming soon. In the meantime, if you have questions about the class or the method, or need any further information, please email [masked] or message me here. I'll try to get back to you ASAP.

Best wishes,
Ania @ DancingBodies

P.S. How did it all start?

Ecstatic Awakening Dance™ is a method that was developed in 1996 by Amoda Maa Jeevan. Her book "Moving into ecstasy" released in 2001 by Thorsons, was heralded as “the most definitive and comprehensive guide to Trance-Dance”.

Her method has since then grown in popularity and status and now has over 40 teachers across the UK and in Europe. Ecstatic Awakening Dance™ is a time-tested powerful, fun, eyes closed transformational process that can break the spell of separation and re-connect us to a natural state of Ecstasy. Held in the sanctuary of Sacred Space there is no place for analysing here!

Through repetitive beats, movement and breath we nourish and revitalise on a cellular level, Releasing endorphins (the feel good brain chemicals!) Flushing out toxins, stuck energy and emotions. Feet pounding, heart drumming, blood pulsing, feeling the rhythm of our bodies, opening to the infinite source of energy and vitality that is available when we surrender to the flow.

Hi, do I have to have experience doing this kind of dancing. I'm a bit nervous I won't be able to let myself go! I guess this is why I have to give it a go ha!

Hello Vicki! I'm glad you have joined the group! Rhythm and breathing help us get out of the head and get into the body. Attention to breath brings us into the NOW so that any worries and struggles are replaced by a state of peace, and joy. Everyone is different though, and everyone experiences this method in their own unique way. And this is beautiful! Looking forward to seeing you :-)
